Welcome to my blog, renewed in April 2019 and again in autumn 2024.

My name is Martin Seydler, living in Cologne, Germany.

Since the 90s I am working as a Programmer (or Software Engineer, Software Developer, what ever). At the beginning I worked with C++, Visual Basic and since 2000 with PHP, SQL, HTML and so on. Povray unfortunately isnt more than a time-intensive hobby, but it makes happy. Reliable and every time.

To run a blog is totally outdated, everyone uses Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, I know, but I totally dont care about it. I invest much time to prepare Informations, which I like to present on my website instead of feeding big concerns with data and money. Also I use it to train my coding-skills, and therefor nothing is better than an own website.

I also know that my english isnt the best, the next thing I dont care about. Especially when we talk about technical documentations I believe that bad english is mucht better than german language only. Maybe it will become better by the time, we will see.

In generally I like to write and discuss about the following:
• PHP-programming - usefull scripts of small and medium size
• creating of 3D-pictues and animations, in the first line done with Povray
• video and picture-handling/manipulation by using ImageMagik und FFmpeg/AVConv
• the lovely small Raspberry Pi and other hardware
• Linux, especially Debian/Rasbian and related programms (or apps, if you like)
• Astronomy and Space-Travel
• Climate-Change and why its a really bad idea
• ... and other things I cant stop thinking about
