6. March - IM-2 Landing on the Moon ... somehow
Groundhog day on the Moon.
Second landing of a probe from
Intuitive Machines , second time the thing tipped on its side.
More probes are under construction, we will see if there is a learning effect.

6. March - Starship Flight 8 + fireworks
Disappointingly, there was no LPE (Launch Pad Explosion) and the booster was successfully landed, or more precisely, caught.
Instead the
Starship -
Elon Musk's personal sanctuary - has impressively broken apart and spread its debris over half the Caribbean.
Again.
Who cares, no one lives there.

10. March - First update of Maetes.com in 2025
Hopefully regularly from now on.
So far I have persevered, published a total of 6 blog posts and 4 new pages in the categories this month.
May go on like this.

14. March - Blue Ghost - Solar eclipse on the Moon
On March 14, a total
lunar eclipse took place, which could be seen from the american continent. For the
Blue Ghost lander on the Moon, it was a
solar eclipse produced by Earth.
Such an event has never been observed by a lunar lander before, making it a real "first" of space exploration.

12. March - HERA Mars Gravity-Assist
ESA's
Hera asteroid probe has successfully flown past
Mars and its moon
Deimos . Several instruments were tested and masses of images were transmitted to Earth.
In December 2026, it is scheduled to arrive at its actual destination, the asteroid
Didymos .

18. March - Egg crisis in the USA
© Walt D.
Fear is rife in the most powerful nation in the world.
Eggs are becoming scarce and expensive, and shortly before Easter, there is a threat of total collapse.
Smugglers of drugs and weapons are switching to eggs as a more profitable commodity, arms sales are declining, the NRA is trying to counteract this.

29. March - Solar eclilpse
At 12:10 p.m. a
partial solar eclipse took place, during which up to 20% of the solar disk was covered in Cologne/Germany. The camera of my inexpensive mobile phone has proven once again that it is not really suitable for astronomy purposes.

30. March - Spectrum first launch
First launch of the german-made
Spectrum rocket in
Andoya/Norway . The flight ended quickly, after 15 seconds the rocket went off course, the engines were switched off and it crashed into the sea, about 100 meters from the launch pad. Nevertheless, it was a success in which valuable data could be collected.
The rocket from
Isar Aerospace is supposed to transport 1000 kilograms into the LEO or 700 kilograms into an SSO.

31. March - Weather report
Last but not least, the current weather report, of course with an all-time record in terms of temperature.
No need to worry, everything will be fine.
